Performs all laboratory tests necessary for diagnosis and treatment of patients at the request of attending physician(s). Supervises staff of maintenance workers who perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing or electrical servicing to the hospital facilities. Conducts training and personnel evaluations. Also performs a variety of journeyman level, general, mechanical and preventative maintenance duties, as well as inspections, servicing, repair and overhaul of equipment, facilities and hospital vehicles. Maintains preventative maintenance schedule and performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all buildings. Maintains annual inspection schedules to ensure Title 22 & 24 compliance. Maintenance of cost control measures. Responsible for hospital wide work order system, and inventory control. Performs all security surveillance of hospital facilities. Serves as Chair of the Safety Committee and Co-Chair of the Disaster Preparedness Committee. Responsible for performance improvement measures, budgets, reports, policies and procedures. Ensures a safe environment for all employees, patients, family members and visitors.
